Buyer’s Guide to Choosing Multi-Wall Paper Bags

Multi-wall paper bags are designed for heavier-duty packaging applications where a single layer of paper may not provide enough strength. Insinc’s range includes 2-ply and 3-ply kraft paper bags in block-bottom and pinched-bottom formats, with selected options featuring gussets, handles, wet-strength paper or moisture barriers.

Sizes range from compact 300 x 300mm formats through to large 900 x 600mm bags, making them suitable for a variety of commercial, industrial and bulk packaging requirements.

2-Ply or 3-Ply Paper Bags?

Two-ply bags provide multiple paper layers for added strength compared with standard single-wall bags and are available in several block-bottom and pinched-bottom formats.

Three-ply bags add an additional paper layer and may suit applications requiring more robust packaging. Selected products are also listed in 70gsm or 80gsm kraft paper, so consider both the number of plies and the paper weight when choosing a bag.

Block Bottom, Pinched Bottom or Moisture Barrier?

Block-bottom bags have a flat base that can provide stability when filled, while pinched-bottom bags use a different closure format and are available with gussets for additional capacity. A 2-ply pinched-bottom option with a handle is also available.

For products requiring additional protection from moisture, selected 2-ply and 3-ply bags include a moisture barrier or wet-strength kraft construction. The appropriate bag depends on the product, weight, filling method and storage conditions.
